Richard trained as a coach with both the Henley Management School and IBM. This has enabled him to create a coaching model through Meon Consulting that brings focus and creativity to his clients. It allows them to develop their own insights and shape their path to achieve goals of all kinds. His extensive experience of General and Sales Management in UK and Global Companies such as IBM, Chloride and IGATE, as well as the Public and 3rd Sector, enables him to understand the experience of board level and departmental managers. This provides a solid platform for his coaching work with his clients.
Background and Coaching Experience
Richard is an executive coach with over 25 years’ experience in business. He held several commercial leadership positions including his time on the board of IBM’s Public Sector where he had profit responsibility for the £150M Defence practice. In addition he has led international teams following spells in the USA and Middle East where he ran IBM’s Oil and Gas business for the BP Account. Richard also has experience of the Public Sector after being seconded to the Department of Energy and Climate Change to run the Carbon Budgets team.
During his time in business and Public Sector, Richard has seen the transformational impact that effective coaching can have with individuals and teams he has led. He has seen the subtle difference between occasions when there is a need to set direction with a clear vision and times when consultation and collaboration is required.
He has worked extensively with both “techUK” and the “Whitehall and Industry Group” associations.
